Household Items
The work of creating wool and blankets and weaving mats was done in the home. These items were important to the Snuneymuxw culture and their economy, and were primarily made by women.
Living Community
The Snuneymuxw people celebrate their community with traditions and events. Winter ceremonies in the Big House feature masks and dances that tell the stories of the people and use the Hul'q'umin'um' language. Athletes show their skill and strength.
Food and Food Preparation
Fishing and harvesting shellfish, plants and berries were important jobs that the whole community helped with. Special containers were created to harvest and prepare the fresh foods and to store them through the winter.
